The Brief
The client wanted a modest, efficient home for a father and his two sons, designed to sit comfortably within a suburban context while making the most of a small, subdivided section.
The focus was on creating a home that was practical, well considered and cost-effective, without compromising on quality or performance.
The Challenge
The site presented a number of constraints, including a steep northern aspect and limited footprint.
The design required careful coordination to ensure the home felt spacious and functional despite its compact size, while also aligning with budget expectations.
In addition, the project followed a prefabricated kitset approach, requiring a high level of accuracy and planning before construction began.
Our Approach
We worked closely with the design team to ensure the project was clearly defined before construction began.
This included coordinating structural requirements, material selections and construction methodology early, allowing the build to proceed with a clear and controlled scope.
The kitset system required a structured and well-managed build process, with each stage aligned to detailed documentation and sequencing.
By resolving key decisions upfront, the project was delivered with a high level of efficiency, cost control and buildability.
The Outcome
The completed home is a compact, high-performing build that delivers a strong sense of space and functionality within a small footprint.
Delivered in 25 weeks, the project demonstrates how a well-considered approach can streamline construction while maintaining quality and cost certainty.
